Helicopter-Based Surveying
Airborne Sensing has developed a specialized camera mount for use on helicopter platforms, enabling the production of Very Large Scale Photogrammetric (VLSP) images for close-range mapping. This solution is used in areas such as highway corridors and high-hazard environments, as well as in detailed timber cruising. In Canada we are permitted to fly scales as low as 1:1,000 over built up areas and 1:600 over less densely populated areas. This system has also been used in a wildlife survey of Sable Island, Nova Scotia, as part of a seal census. |
